GPT-4 NEXT, due out later this year, is expected to be trained using a miniature version of Strawberry (for better reasoning) using roughly the same compute resources as GPT-4, with an effective compute load 100 times larger. Neither company disclosed the investment value, but unnamed sources told Bloomberg that it could total $10 billion over multiple years. In return, OpenAI’s exclusive cloud-computing provider is Microsoft Azure, powering all OpenAI workloads across research, products, and API services.
